Under the Surface

They bravely submerge themselves in rivers and lakes to learn about and document underwater ecosystems. The stunning photographs that result from these expeditions have been featured in books, films, and witnessed by over one million people at exhibits around the United States. These photographs represent the kids' exploration and discovery of the underwater world, and of themselves.

"Crying" by Hailey, 14 | Under the Surface 2016
When I look at this picture, I think that this leaf is crying for help, and no one is listening because he is silent. Even though no one will hear him, he still refuses to sink.
About Hailey: "Lately, I’ve been waking up to the beautiful sun. Lately, I’ve been thinking about my life, and how grateful I am. For having light, for having loving and caring people in my life. Lately, I’ve been thinking about my new life at home, and how I’m going to deal with all my emotions, and I came up with a simple answer to that in photography."
