Under the Surface
"The Immaculate Sponge" by Anonymous, 17 | Under the Surface 2019
This picture reminded me of a normal household sponge. You have the decision as your own sponge to keep things in your life, or squeeze them and let go of some things to create new paths and collect from those. When I saw this sponge under water I had so many emotions going on. It was a reminder that I can let go of my past childhood and start a new chapter of life.
About the artist: I came to Northwest Passage to deal with anger issues as well as trying to figure out my life. I was adopted at the age of 10 and didn’t have a good childhood. My hobbies include soccer, wrestling, track and field, and 4-H Club. I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my pets. In the future, I hope to go to college for Athletic Training at UCLA. As a side hobby I would like to be a photographer.
