Under the Surface
Each summer, young explorers from Northwest Passage set out for adventures that few have experienced. They bravely submerge themselves in rivers and lakes to learn about and document underwater ecosystems. The stunning photographs that result from these expeditions have been featured in books, films, and witnessed by over one million people at exhibits around the United States. These photographs represent the kids' exploration and discovery of the underwater world, and of themselves.

When you're in the water you have to watch out for the people around you, just like in life you have to watch out for your friends and family.
About Ndolo: "I came to Northwest Passage for the first time in February of 2014 due to struggles with depression, anxiety, and self-harm. I graduated from the program in August of 2014 and then returned in February of the following year, still struggling with the same issues. laNL has opened my eyes to the little beauties in nature. It has taught me patience and tolerance and that being uncomfortable can sometimes be worth it. I am very thankful that I got to participate in this amazing program."
