Under the Surface

Each summer, young explorers from Northwest Passage set out for adventures that few have experienced. They bravely submerge themselves in rivers and lakes to learn about and document underwater ecosystems. The stunning photographs that result from these expeditions have been featured in books, films, and witnessed by over one million people at exhibits around the United States. These photographs represent the kids' exploration and discovery of the underwater world, and of themselves.

Few people have been lucky enough to find out what’s under the surface, and I am one of them. I have taken many beautiful pictures to capture what’s under the surface. I have found some pretty amazing things. Water is such a wonderful gift that lots of people take for granted. I’ve been learning that water is a very neat thing that we should value more because it’s someone’s home.
