Under the Surface

Each summer, young explorers from Northwest Passage set out for adventures that few have experienced. They bravely submerge themselves in rivers and lakes to learn about and document underwater ecosystems. The stunning photographs that result from these expeditions have been featured in books, films, and witnessed by over one million people at exhibits around the United States. These photographs represent the kids' exploration and discovery of the underwater world, and of themselves.

The adrenaline rushed through my veins at the sight that will be a memory.

About Nick: Hi, I’m Nick and I am 16 years old. Some of the stuff that I do in my free time is football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and D&D (Dungeons and Dragons). I came to Northwest Passage for doing something that involved law enforcement. There are a lot of things that happened in my life that I am struggling with. Photography changed my perspective since I first got here. The thing I like most about nature photography is that it is part of the PassageWay. My favorite memory will be a squirrel at Copper Falls State Park that wasn’t afraid of me when I was taking a picture of it. This is me and this is why I am here at Northwest Passage.
