In 2010, a teacher at Northwest Passage and professional photographer, Ben Thwaits, brought to life his idea of using nature photography as a therapeutic outlet. These photographs represent the beginning of a program that has impacted hundreds of children, helping them find beauty in the world around them, and within themselves.

I really like this frog picture I took. I like it because the frog is in focus and the background is blurry, and it uses the rule of thirds. I think he’s saying, “Come here. Look at me closely. Look how I’m living my life free out in the wild.”
