Lakes in New Light
Lakes in New Light is project-based companion to Darby Nelson's acclaimed book, For Love of Lakes. This nature photography and aquatic ecology curriculum for the youth at Northwest Passage aims to capture the spirit and central message of For Love of Lakes by seamlessly blending art with science, emotion with reason, and deploying this philosophy in the form of a youth program aimed at creating transformative educational and emotional experiences that youth will retain throughout their lives.

"New Life" by Trevor, 16 | Lakes In a New Light
About Trevor: "My name is Trevor, and I'm from Madison. I'm at Passage because of the mistakes I've made in the past. Being here has really made me realize that I need to take time and think before I just do things I'm going to regret. What I love about Lake in a New Light is that you can get outside and realize what you're missing. You learn how to take these amazing photos you thought you could never take, and you learn about all the amazing things about nature that you've been missing out on. Taking photos makes me feel like there is a new me and I can change because of the beauty in some of my photos."
