Lakes in New Light is project-based companion to Darby Nelson's acclaimed book, For Love of Lakes. This nature photography and aquatic ecology curriculum for the youth at Northwest Passage aims to capture the spirit and central message of For Love of Lakes by seamlessly blending art with science, emotion with reason, and deploying this philosophy in the form of a youth program aimed at creating transformative educational and emotional experiences that youth will retain throughout their lives.

The first time I saw a dragonfly nymph, I thought it was one of the ugliest bugs I have ever seen. But now I really like them, and it's really fun to catch them. It's amazing that something so ugly can become so beautiful.
