"We are Water" by Jonathan, 18 | Dry Tortugas National Park 2016
On my way to Dry Tortugas I had so many ideas of what the place would be like, but I completely underestimated the reality of it. When the island was within sight and I saw the fort, I was amazed by the size of it. It looked like something in a movie. Staying here felt like a dream. Walking around the fortress and learning about all the history made me feel honored to stay in such a beautiful historic place.
About Jonathan: My name is Jonathan. I am at Northwest Passage working on finding better coping skills. Northwest Passage offered an underwater photography class and that is where I fell in love with photography. It has helped me in my recovery in many ways. In the future, I plan on pursuing a career in photography. Also I’d like to travel as much as possible.
