"Wild Mushrooms" by Anonymous, 16 | February 2021

I love these mushrooms because they show so much vibrant color and they are alone on a log in the woods. I feel like I have a thing in common with them, I like to show my beauty in my own way, but I also like to be alone.

About the artist: I’m 16 years old and from Merrill, Wisconsin. I’m at Northwest Passage because of my anger and behaviors at home. I like fishing, football, basketball, hiking, and biking. Words that describe me are: funny, kind, smart, and awesome. My future goals are to go home to my family, go back to school, and get a very nice job when I’m older. Photography brought out a skill I never knew I would be good at and it helps me be calm. I appreciate the staff that have helped me in my treatment. I hope to be able to do photography when I get out of here, I think I will buy a camera!
