"Ignorance is Bliss" by Aimee, 15 | October 2019
Ignorance is Bliss
But is bliss ignorance?
Ignorance of all the pain and sin in the world?
In a way, yes.
It’s looking past, or “ignoring” the faults in the universe,
And instead, focusing on the beauty in the midst of the atrocity.
Though it brings momentary happiness and contentment,
And a rushing feeling of perfection,
It is also temporary,
And soon enough the moment will pass.
About Aimee: "It’s been a long road finding myself, but now I’m more sure of who I am. I was brought to Passage because I had lost hope, but now I have acquired more enthusiasm and motivation for my life, and what it could become. Life is a wonder, and there’s so many things I have yet to experience and learn. There was a point in my life where I truly believed that life was not worth living, but my perspective drastically changed, and I now look at all the aspects of life that I had been missing. I only focused on the negative, and that perspective of doubt that life couldn’t get better sent me down what felt like an uncontrollable spiral of pain and suffering. But now, I’m working on bettering myself and my life. I no longer hold that perspective of hopelessness that brought me here. It’s a long and difficult process, but I believe in myself, and I have supports at Passage that believe in me too."
