"Milkweed" by Isis, 14 | November 2022
In PassageWay class we learned about “the Lakota way’’ and read the book. I learned something that really stuck with me. Instead of letting the wind knock you down, let it pass through you. This means, instead of taking things to heart, let them blow right through you because the quicker you let them pass you by, the quicker you keep walking forward. This reminds me a lot of the milkweed because the wind blows the milkweed throughout the field, but it doesn’t kill it. Instead, the wind plants its seeds all over the place, allowing new milkweed to grow.
