Ice frozen upon the leaf
Preserving color
Preserving beauty
The ice keeps the leaf in place
Protected from wind
The leaves still intact
They have survived the winter
Clinging on the branch
They live in winter
As long as the air stays cold
But if it warms up
Ice will melt away
Removing their protection
Leaves will fall that day
