Precarious path to the present
I walk alone
Over the river and through the woods
to my future, I go
Over the river and through the woods
to my past, I go
Over the river and through the woods
again and again
I’m tired of walking and trudging through the cold lonely woods
I search and search for a beacon, a light, a path
And finally, I am found by my present
Though the path is narrow and uneven
Over the river and through the woods
To my present, I will go
