"Fall Time" by Mila, 14 | November 2019
Beautiful, colorful, but rough around the edges. Unique from others in her own special way. She looks different depending on how you choose to look at her. She thrives with others but sometimes she needs to blow a different way so she can have her space. No matter what she is beautiful. At the end of the fall, she falls to the ground and gets ready for the long cold winter.
About Mila: "I came to NWP due to not following my parent’s directions and breaking the law. When I first came to Passage, I faced many challenges such as being in my first residential treatment center, being so far away from my parents and not knowing anyone. Nature photography has helped me to appreciate nature more. After going to middle school I lost interest in nature based activities and decided it was too childish, but since coming to Prairieview and participating in the In A New Light program I have learned that there is beauty in nature as long as you allow yourself to see it. There is so much to learn about nature and even more to discover in the years to come. A memory I will always carry with me is how much I hated nature and underappreciated it coming into passage and how I have come to see beauty in it now. I will forever remember that I should try something out and give it a chance before judging it. Overall, I am very thankful to be able to experience the wonders of Nature Photography and everything it has to offer."
